George Hemcher, performing artist and winner of the Concerto Competition and the Rhoda Pinsly Levin Award to debut the Petrof "Storm" with the Hofstra Symphony Orchestra on May 8, 2010.

After much searching Mr. Hemcher selected the Petrof 6' 5'' grand piano, called the Storm, one of Petrof's "Pianos of the Winds." Mr. Hemcher commented: "After trying a myriad of 6' pianos at Frand and Camille's, the Petrof Storm 6' 5'' grand piano was far and above anything I have ever played in this size. I was able to get a big warm sound out of this piano and the action is superb."

Building fine world-class pianos by hand since 1864, Petrof is the last of the truly family owned piano manufacturers in Europe and is also the largest producer of handmade pianos in Europe. The company was founded by Anton Petrof and has survived to emerge as one of the premier handmade pianos of Europe.

Selecting only the finest of materials and painstakingly building Petrof pianos in the traditional manner, but adding modern techniques to improve precision, Petrof is considered one of the finest pianos available in the world today and has become a much sought after and revered handmade piano from Europe.
